Due to the expansion of the Westerville Community Center, all 2019 summer day camps will be held at Cherrington Elementary School (522 Cherrington Rd.)

Welcome to the best summer camps around! Westerville Parks and Recreation prides itself on offering safe, fun-filled, and affordable camp experiences to all families in the community. Whether camp is outside or inside, half-day or full-day, active or passive, winter, spring, summer or fall, we offer it all.

As we aim to provide a great camp experience for students, the program's foundation revolves around engaged and trained camp counselors. All camp counselors must complete background checks and drug testing and be certified in First Aid, CPR, and AED to provide the safest environment for your child.


Summer Day Camp

Our 9:1 Camper/Counselor ratio provides a great environment for your child to enjoy the summer.  This camp will run from Monday, June 3 - Friday, Aug. 2.

Camp fees are $145 per week ($130 per week for residents) with exception to session five fees of $95 ($80 for residents,) due to the holiday. Camp hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Extended care is available from 7 - 9 a.m. and 4 - 6 p.m. for an additional fee of $2.50 per use. Our weekly themed lesson plans will map out a daily agenda full of games and activities that will both highlight passive play along with high energy movement and will include swimming and a Friday Field Trip. A weekly newsletter will be available online. Participant camp placement is determined by campers age as of the last day camps are offered.

Summer Day Camp dates will run from Monday, June 3 - Friday, Aug. 2.

A $50 minimum payment per child is due for each registered camp week. The remaining portion of each payment is not due until May, allowing households the ability to defer their payments over time. Full payment may still be made when registering online or in-person, should you choose to do so. **ALL CAMPS WILL BE HELD AT CHERRINGTON ELEMENTARY (522 CHERRINGTON RD.) FOR THE SUMMER OF 2019.

Heritage Kids Camp

Located at Antrim Shelter at Heritage Park (60 N. Cleveland Ave.), Heritage Kids Camp offers the ability to combine two of our most successful summer programs, Summer Day Camp and Kids Fun Club in one.

This outdoor camp provides ages 6-12 a structured daily agenda with the uniqueness of experiencing the outdoors plus the bonus of a Friday swim at the Community Center. Heritage Kids Camp fees are $120 per week ($105 per week for residents,) runs 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday with a 5:1 Camper/Counselor ratio and maximum of 30 campers per week. Extended care is not available; children must have completed Kindergarten.

Kids Fun Club

This Drop-In, Monday through Friday program for ages 6 - 13 (who have completed Kindergarten) is the perfect solution to keep boredom from setting in. Campers will enjoy increased creativity and a sense of adventure with activities such as crafts, games, and special events. Kids Fun Clubs are not day-care facilities but are recreational sites for children to spend quality leisure time with their peers.

Junior Leaders

Many campers have loved their counselors so much that they too want teach our camp programs. Students can volunteer through the Junior Leader Program to learn about the camp counselor position while developing important leadership skills. Interested participants may fill out a Junior Leader Application
