Westerville Parks and Recreation offers something for everyone when it comes to the pools. Whether you want to teach your child to swim, take a water aerobics class or plan summer fun for you and your family, Highlands Park Aquatic Center and the Westerville Community Center Indoor Pool have what you are looking for.
HIGHLANDS PARK AQUATIC CENTER (HPAC)
The hit of the summer is in Westerville, at Highlands Park Aquatic Center. Designed with a natural, organic-feeling environment for relaxing fun in the sun, the Aquatic Center features a speed and body slide tower, a zero-entry toddler pool with a simulated-rock slide, a spray playground, lazy river and eight-lane, 25-meter pool with diving well. There’s enough here to keep a family of any age busy for an entire day—or a whole summer!
Additional information about the outdoor aquatic facility is available at www.westerville.org/hpac.
COMMUNITY CENTER INDOOR POOL
No matter the weather outside, it’s always swimsuit weather at the pool at the Westerville Community Center. Kids and adults both have a blast in the Leisure Pool, Competition Pool and Whirlpool.
Leisure Pool
Adding to the water current section, zero-depth entry, lap lanes and swimming area are the new dueling slides that incorporate lights and scoring/gaming systems to record your speed and accuracy while you slide. Swimmers can track their times to compare to friends.
A new water playground located in the zero-entry pool is filled with fun interactive equipment featuring mini dueling slides, a tube slide, fountains and the nearly 159-gallon water bucket for a new, fun and exhilarating splash zone.
Competition Pool
Our Competition Pool is a modern eight-lane, 25-yard lap/competitive pool with two diving boards where residents can be found swimming laps or practicing dives.
Warm Water Pool
The new addition has the equivalent of three 20-yard lap lanes and a water current section which will host aquatic programs for all ages as well as open use time. The pool ranges from 3-7’ feet in depth and will be maintained at a temperature between 88-90 degrees.
