Westerville Safety City is a program designed to teach students entering kindergarten in the fall about a variety of safety issues. Each student is taught basic rules of traffic and pedestrian safety, fire prevention, school bus safety, poison prevention, animal safety, gun safety, water safety, and stranger awareness. The program is operated by a non-profit organization. This organization coordinates the cooperative efforts of a variety of Westerville entities including the Westerville Divisions of Fire, Police and Communications. The Westerville City Schools participate by allowing the use of their facilities for the program.
