Bantam Basketball League

The Westerville Parks and Recreation Department conducts this popular basketball league for boys
and girls in grades 4 through 8. Utilizing a volunteer coaching staff, children are taught the fundamentals
of basketball, including ball-handling techniques, dribbling, shooting, teamwork, team strategy and
sportsmanship. Mandatory skills testing will be held on Saturday, Nov. 1 at the Community Center.
Participants must be registered at the Parks and Recreation Office prior to the testing date. The
makeup date is Saturday, Nov. 8. All players must be evaluated. Team composition is determined by
skill level. Coaches are also needed for the leagues.
This year, all coaches will be required to sign a background screening release form. Screening fees
have been built into league fees. Please notify the Parks and Recreation office if interested in coaching.
Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first -serve basis until each grade is filled. The number
of participants in each grade is limited. Please note that special requests for team assignments will not
be honored. New for this season, we will allow one player request for the girl leagues!!
