The City’s traditional Tree Lighting Ceremony is expanding into a full holiday celebration in Uptown Westerville on Friday, December 6 from 5-9 p.m.
New programming will take place in front of and behind City Hall and along W. College Ave. Activities include:
A pony carousel
Petting zoo
Ice skating rink ($5 per half hour, skates provided; 12-9 p.m.)
Meet and greets with holiday characters (Elsa, Anna, Olaf, Rudolph and the Grinch)
Family-friendly music
Horse-drawn carriage rides
Seasonal crafts and games
Special photo opportunities
Free hot cocoa and cookies
Children's Holiday Gift Shop (Cash Only; Inside City Hall Council Chambers)
Food trucks
The official Tree Lighting Ceremony will begin at 7 p.m.
Families can visit with Santa and his elves from 6-7 p.m and 7:30-8:30 p.m. inside City Hall through the north entrance.
Be sure to explore Uptown Westerville to see the decorated storefronts and finish some holiday shopping too.
Driving to the area and looking to park? Below are some important reminders:
• State Street will be closed beginning at 5:45 p.m. to about 7:30 p.m. from W. College Avenue and just north of Park Street.
• W. College Ave will be closed from State Street to Knox for the duration of the event.
• There will be no on-street parking on State Street between Park Street and College Avenue for the duration of the event.
• The City Hall parking lot will be unavailable all day beginning at 8 a.m.
