Westerville Parks and Recreation is working with the Westerville Public Library bringing stories to parks at the new Johnston-McVay Park at 480 S. Hempstead Rd. The trail features 18 colorful storyboards illustrating pages of a children’s book. A new story will be installed bi-monthly beginning in December 2020. Expect to see the second book installed in late February to early March. Story titles will be included here and in the Community Recreation Guide.

The storyboards begin at the west side of the park and span the length of the walking trail. Visitors will meander through tall Shagbark and Walnut trees, around the Hawk playground, swing set and climbing areas as they take in the storyboards.

Like other parks and green spaces in Westerville, Johnston-McVay Park centers around nature while featuring play equipment and recreational opportunities. While the park is currently open for play, expect to see a grand-opening sometime in spring of 2021.
